NICE TO MEET YOU!
I'm Justin, a mixed-methods UX researcher based in Atlanta.

I trained as an industrial designer at Georgia Tech, and by the time I graduated I had become more interested in the research that precedes design decisions than in the execution of the designs themselves. I moved into user research on that basis and have worked in it since.

My career has been spent in automotive and mobility, first at Porsche, then at Hyundai, and currently at Cox Automotive. The part I have come to value most is the breadth. I have worked across delivery streams and products sitting at different points in the same customer journey, from the mobile marketplace where a dealer buys a vehicle through to the financing that makes the purchase possible. That vantage point turns out to be useful, because it means I can tell a product team how their surface connects to the one upstream of it.

The methodological core of my practice is conventional enough: moderated usability testing, generative and contextual interviews, survey design, concept validation, and thematic analysis. Less conventional is that I build the tooling the research depends on, and that I am increasingly occupied with making domain knowledge legible to AI so that product teams can use what we have learned rather than rediscover it.

The part of this work I find most rewarding is not running the study. It is being the person a team asks before they commit, and having a defensible answer about which question is worth answering first.

Outside of work I am usually playing video games, writing short stories, or drawing whatever happens to catch my eye.

Please reach out if you have any questions about me, my projects, or anything design or research related.
Thank You for stopping by!
